"I wanted to express how happy we are to have worked with Kate on a number of prestigious projects - The Science of Survival & most recently the Scotch Whiskey Experience
Both projects looked absolutely fabulous due in no small part to the lighting design Kate devised while working in close collaboration with our design team
Thanks Kate for making us shine!"

“Kate Wilkins versatility truly shone through by taking on a variety of very complex environments with exceedingly tight deadlines:

1.  Theatrical experiential dark ride explaining the processes of making Scotch Whisky
2.  The Sensory Rooms – where visitors learn to nose and taste whisky
3.  The Diageo Scotch Whisky Collection – housing the largest collection of Scotch whisky in the world
4.  Traditional and cocktail bar environments

Kate Wilkins delivered a series of high end, innovative solutions that impressed both the client and the more importantly wowed the visitors. The teams technical and creative knowledge made what was potentially a high risk project appear like a walk in the park.”

Kate Wilkins on first appearance maybe mistaken as more petite version of Uma Therman but that first impression is soon dispelled when you hear her Mallorey Towers, very English dialect, with a slight “r” impediment that seems to be synonymous with most mildly posh birds. She is a little shy at first and you may have to tease her opinions out of her at meetings. Her client handling skills are second to none “apparently” keeping me well in check when my lighting opinion rises above its station i.e. extends beyond lighting a candle. Working with her was truly enlightening. Now that I am not working with her I am sitting in darkness waiting for my next illuminating experience.....or maybe I should learn to change a light bulb.”

"Your commitment to the development and realisation of the light show for the opening of Tate Modern went well beyond anything that we could have expected. The success of the program and the extraordinary scenes of excitement and enthusiasm on the night were due largely to your skill in orchestrating a huge number of people and technicians"

"First created for the 1999 Basel Watch Trade Fair, where it was opened by the President of Switzerland, and with an expected 10 year life span, the Patek Philippe exhibition stand was designed to take the luxury brand forward into a new era. With the main structure built from white marble and glass around a steel frame, the lighting scheme required careful thought and precise positioning in order to enhance the luxury style of the concept and delineate the two areas: the external public exhibition space and the internal private business areas. Kate produced a scheme entirely in harmony with Virgile and Stone's architectural concept, and spent a great deal of time on site in Basel with the project management team ensuring the lighting was correctly positioned and adjusted prior to its initial opening".

"The Two-Zero-Two nightclub, completed in 1996, involved a complex array of lighting elements including a dance floor, karaoke rooms, underfloor lighting, projection and a bar featuring specially created fibre-optic lighting. Working with the Virgile and Stone design team, Kate created a lighting scheme which ideally complements the state of the art interior concept and nightclub ambience."

Kate Wilkins worked as part of our lighting design team for five years and was a valued member of the team. She has great flair, technical ability and a passion for creating new, original but dramatic solutions to lighting projects.

Her abilities as a team player were extremely strong, as was her ability to stand alone and drive a project forward through all its stages, from concept to delivery.

We should have no hesitation in recommending her for any lighting project and are sorry to see her go, but have wished her every success in her future career development.

"We have known Kate Wilkins for many years, during the time she worked as a lighting designer for Imagination's highly experienced specialist team. She has assisted us with a number of our own design projects and we were delighted with the creativity and dedication she bought to the lighting design element of these concepts, and believe the results speak for themselves. The major Virgile and Stone projects with which Kate was involved were a nightclub within Hotel Shilla in Seoul, Korea for client Samsung (two-zero-two) and a £3m exhibition stand for one of the world's leading watchmakers, Patek Philippe, although she has provided advice on many other occasions".

"We would be delighted to recommend Kate Wilkins as a talented and creative lighting designer based on our first hand experience of working with her, and feel she has a great future in her specialist area of design"

"In a lengthy career encompassing numerous world tours I'm happy to report that Kate Wilkins is undoubtedly the most talented light designer I've worked with. She draws from a wide range of experience and interests including theatre, live music, light sculpting as well as large commercial installations. Not only is she very talented she is also a very responsible, tenacious and charming person who works with you rather than for you in an inspiring, enjoyable and ego-less collaboration. I look forward to working with her again on future tours."
